TESTIMONIALS
We wanted to have artwork that inspires, provokes, encourages risk taking and embodies the reward. John’s work brings these together in an image - we were fortunate to find two pieces that have adorned our offices for the past few years.
We chose two pieces that show our home state of California as a place where nature has carved into earth and sky patterns that are expansive and optimistic. One is a river flowing through a sandbank into the Pacific Ocean - the other sunlight peeking out through a forest of redwood trees.
There’s a natural movement in his photography towards a better brighter place and it welcomes one to look deeper and reflect. The pieces looked great against our blank walls in our prior offices and today hang on a brick wall.
Every visitor notices and comments on these pieces - even in these days of zoom video conferences, we made sure they can be seen as backdrops.

We bought John's photo "On the Coast #3". We love the ocean, that is our go-to place for peace, happiness, and rest. For us, the photo perfectly captures the calming, everlasting presence of the ocean with a beautifully breaking wave in the front and a series of new waves beginning to form behind it.
It reminds us that the ocean and waves are always there for us, and always will be, no matter what else is going on in our lives or the world.
We have alot of color in our home, and John's black and white image is one of the first images everyone comments on. So many people are drawn to it, just as people are drawn to the ocean.

There is a space above our fireplace that demands a particular piece of art. We have hung various paintings and photographs there over the years, but they were all just temporary visitors - splashes of color to fill the empty space.
Then I found the perfect black and white photograph in John's portfolio as a present for my wife's birthday. It is a seascape that conjures up the emotions of being by the water for me. It captures the stillness, the loneliness and vastness of that moment in time in that location.
The tonality of the piece really suits my aesthetic. The subtle shifts in darks and lights render a very balanced composition. It is the perfect piece for what we needed.
